Heart / Liver Transplant Update!

Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. They've been answered. It's official! As of April 17th, 2012, I have a new heart and liver. I waited only 1 month and 1 day after I was "listed" to get the much anticipated call when I was initially told 6 to 8 months.

The 12 hour surgery went as well as it could have. The Doctors and Nurses at the University of Penn are classifying my recovery as nothing short of a miracle, however this upcoming year after the surgery is a very important time frame as it relates to rejections and infections. I was out of the hospital after 10 days, on the 27th of April and I've been back in the office working on searches since then. I want to thanks those clients of mine who were working with me on active searches during that time frame and hopefully we can close those deals soon.

When you get an organ implant, the steroids automatically induce your body in to a diabetic state so monitoring my blood sugar and giving myself the proper insulin injections daily is key, as well as taking all the medications and exercising. I feel great (although I have 122 metal staples across my chest and abdomen) and I am following Doctor's orders carefully so that I can get back on the Golf Course ASAP. :) Again, thank you all for your well wishes, prayers and support and I hope to talk to you soon.
